Who wouldn’t want to be Home Alone with Mrs Jones with wallpaper like this! We asked Fee aka Mrs Jones, what the inspiration was behind her room…

“My room was originally inspired by Biba imagery, lots of black and gold, very decadent with a kind of 70s take on art deco style and no doubt a bit of animal print thrown in for good measure. I knew however it ended up it was going to be pretty full on and sexy like the clothing I design.

In fact I’m learning that designing a room is a very similar process to designing a look. you start with a key piece wether its shoes or wallpaper then your up and running. For me personally its the fabric that determines the design, hence once I had that snake wallpaper within clutches the rest fell into place..

I started with a Pinterest board called The Mrs J room spending way to long sprawling through the overwhelming choices of stunning wallpaper thats out there but knew I didn't want a repeat affair thing going on, it had to be something big bold and a bit dark humoured (like myself;) a mural thing maybe..

Once I saw that snake nothing else compared I was obsessed with it. Knew it was completely out of my budget but also knew it was needed and I could make everything else ridiculously cheep thanks to my craftyness, sewing skills and Walthamstow fabric market being just up the rd from me.

Luckily the owners Kelly & Dan went with it and trusted my madness which really is the best way to get the best out of people, to be trusted and let loose then we can really go for it.
A month of hard graft later, the Home Alone With Mrs Jones room with a twist of Adam and Eve, was created.
The rooms ingredients are a mix of things old and new with plenty of restored touches and good heap of sense of humour thrown in for the cheery on top moments.

The 70s sexy Eve mirror kind of brought the theme together for me. I’ve had her over 20 years and I love it dearly, she's holding an apple - it just had to go in that room next to the snake printed wallpaper. My theme came very organically and I went along with it very naturally. Lots of love and passion went into my room and I hope whomever stays in it has the night of their life.
