PLAYLIST SESSION 008 - GETTING TO KNOW YOUR NEIGHBOURS - HANTVERK & FOUND
Hantverk & Found was one of the first restaurants we tried when we visited Margate years before we decided to become part of the community. Its a firm favourite amongst both locals and visitors alike, if you have eaten there already you will know exactly what we are talking about.
Kate De Syllas, owner, incredible chef, neighbour and now friend has put together this playlist inspired by her new sushi offering during these strange times. We love you Kate, and we love your Sushi too!

1. In a few words tell us about yourself and what brought you to Margate.
I moved here to escape London and open a restaurant just over 6 years ago. Back then there really were very few places to eat well in Margate and opening a restaurant on your own terms in London had become pretty much impossible.
2. Describe your perfect night out?
It sounds odd, but after the restaurant being closed for so long, I would actually quite like a busy night at work - maybe a couple of drinks at the George afterwards.
3. If you could choose any Cocktail to accompany your playlist, what would it be and why?
I’m quite a fan of Felix Cohen’s chilli seaweed margaritas
4. What are the reasons behind your choice of songs for the playlist and (if applicable) how do they relate to you?
I made the playlist with Eli, a friend and work colleague. We spend quite a lot of time at work making playlists and it’s a big part of life at the restaurant so it felt like a nice thing to be doing after the forced break.
5. What will be the first thing you do when lockdown has fully ended?
It’ll be nice to know you can give your friends a hug or a kiss when you see them rather than the awkward way a lot of us are greeting each other, and while I really am quite enjoying the time off, it will be great to finally re-open properly.
