Hotel FAQ & Policies

  • Do you allow Pets to stay?

    We allow small, well behaved dogs to stay at The George and Heart House - there is a charge of £20 per stay to bring along your furry friend. Please inform us of this before your arrival to ensure we are prepared.

  • Are children allowed to stay?

    Even though our Hotel is not designed with children in mind, we do allow children and infants in our family rooms. Please inform us before booking.

  • Is smoking allowed?

    Smoking is allowed in the courtyard and strictly no smoking is allowed inside.

  • What are your payment terms?

    Upon booking with us or at check-in we will take your card details and authorise the use of your card for any charges made during your stay at Heart House. We will be requesting full payment of your booking prior to your arrival. At check out all outstanding charges must be paid for in full.

  • Do you have Parking on site?

    There is no on-site parking available at Heart House but you will find parking facilities nearby on Trinity Square or surrounding areas. There is also Poundstretcher, just a 2 min walk from the house which offers long stay paid parking.

  • What is your damages and missing items policy?

    Any damages incurred to your room or the property during your stay or any items that are missing when you leave will be chargeable to your credit/debit card; this also includes damage or staining of our linen or soft furnishings.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    We can only accept cancellations or amendments via email correspondence.

    Cancellations made 14 days or more before arrival you will receive a full refund.
    Cancellations made 7 days -13 days before the day of arrival you will receive a 50% refund.
    Cancellations made less than 7 days before the day of arrival, the total reservation amount will be fully charged. Any amendments to the original booking are also subject to this cancellation policy.

    For group bookings of more than 2 rooms, we require a month's notice to qualify for a full refund. Cancellations made less than one month prior to check-in are non-refundable.

    Cancellations for Christmas & New Year bookings require a month’s notice for a full refund.


    Please note that if for any reasons you may have to vacate your room earlier than originally booked, the remainder of your charge will be non-refundable.

  • Can we check out late?

    Our Check out time is 12 midday to allow a restful night and leisurely morning. We allow late check outs on request only and there is a £10 per hour fee for late checkouts. We are happy to hold your luggage in the event that you wish to venture out prior to leaving our premises. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for any loss and that it will be at your own risk.
    If you check out late without notifying us we may remove your belongings from your room as well as charge you an extra night.

  • Can you send me a VAT invoice?

    Email rooms@georgeandheart.com to request a VAT invoice.

  • Conduct

    We may terminate the booking without a refund or compensation in the event of misbehaviour, loud activities or threatening behaviour towards other guests as well as the staff.
